Cheng Tzufs Tai Chi Chuan is a traditional Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan which Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing simplified the original number of postures to 37. Professor Cheng Man-ch'ing was called the "Five Excellences" meaning that no one could stand before him in painting, poetry, calligraphy, medicine and T'ai Chi. In his late years, he taught the Tai Chi Chuan in the United States so there are many devotees of the Tai Chi in Europe and the U.S. Japan Cheng Tzufs Tai Chi Chuan Study Association We at Japan Cheng Tzufs Tai Chi Chuan Study Association are teacing Form and T'ui-shou (Sensing Hands) of the Tai Chi Chuan. Featuring: 1. Pursuing relaxation and softness based on Doctrine of the "Chuan" and cultivating mind, body and virtue. 2. Training not only Form but by emphasizing on T'ui-shou. Form is the body and so fundamental. T'ui-shou is the kung-fu to do an application. They are in close relationship with each other like a human body and its shadow. It is important to cultivate the kung-fu of application rooting on one leg: by training agile senses through T'ui-shou, judging an opponent's force and making him off-balanced by deflecting the incoming attack, gdeflecting one thousand pounds with four ounces" can become a reality. What a pity it is that one cannot do T'ui-shou but can do just Form. Because that is virtually identical to stepping into wealth of treasures but stepping out empty-handed.
